Evolved Gas Analysis
(Temperature Programmed Desorption-Mass Spectrometry TPD-MS)

Principle

TPD-MS is real-time evolved gas analysis in which a mass spectrometer (MS) is directly connected to a special heating device with a temperature controller, and the concentration change of evolved gas from a sample heated according to temperature program is tracked as a function of temperature or time. Since it is an on-line analysis, it is possible to simultaneously detect inorganic and organic compounds such as moisture in a one-time measurement. GC/MS analysis of the collected trapped material can also be used to qualitative the organic compounds.
