Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry : GDMS

Principle

GD-MS is a high sensitivity analysis technique based on sputtering by glow discharge between anode and sample as a cathode. Sputtered and positively ionized particles are introduced into mass spectrometer. Semi-quantitative analyses for all elements could be basically capable using instrumentally built-in relative sensitivity coefficient (RSF). GD-MS could be easily applied for flat-shape sample, and additionally powder samples by employing appropriate sampling in advance.
